Isosorbide nitrate is a vasodilator whose main pharmacological action is to relax vascular smooth muscle. The overall effect is to reduce the oxygen consumption of the heart muscle, increase the oxygen supply, and relieve angina pectoris. Clinical can be used to treat various types of coronary heart disease angina pectoris and prevent attacks. Intravenous drip can be used for the treatment of congestive heart failure, various types of hypertension in emergencies and for the control of pre-operative hypertension.
